Bodhgaya, India, February 14, 2016. At the 33rd Kagyu Monlam there was an all-day ceremony to commemorate the Sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa, which included the official presentation of Dharma King: The Life of the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa in Images. Please enjoy these photos taken from the live video feed (in sequence as follows): the gathering at the Monlam Pavillion, the 17th Karmapa making introductory remarks, Ven Lhundrup Damcho introducing the book, H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche unveiling the book and formally presenting it, and the 17th Karmapa acknowledging Lhundrup Damcho.

Woodstock, NY, USA. February 14, 2016. From 2-4 in the afternoon, over 50 people, including lamas, staff, guests, and local students, joined President Khenpo Tenkyong, Louise Light (Designer), and Maureen McNicholas and Peter van Deurzen (KTD Publications) in celebrating the North American launch of Dharma King, viewing the Monlam launch on YouTube, enjoying hot apple cider, pear tart, chocolate torte, and many other good eats. As we viewed the presentation in India and poured over our copies handed out to all who attended, His Holiness the 16th Karmapa’s presence was joyfully felt by all.

Behind the Scenes. Here are a few moments captured over the years during production, prepress, and delivery of the book, including (in sequence) Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche examining layouts at Karme Ling Retreat, Khenpo Tenkyong with Louise Light looking at proofs in the KTD Publications office, delivery of the precious cargo to Namse Bangdzo Bookstore at KTD, and then the published books packaged and ready to ship out to awaiting readers!
